Role Overview
This position will be required to work at both our 4501 N. Ravenswood Ave. location and 5400 N. Damen Ave. location, depending on business needs.
As the General Manager, your pivotal responsibilities include:
- Leadership & Oversight: Manage and lead our two active, multi-service facilities, ensuring each department thrives.
- Operational Excellence: Drive efficiency and profitability in daycare, lodging, enrichment, training, grooming, and retail operations.
- Team Empowerment: Guide and mentor our leadership team, including the Director of Operations and Assistant Managers.
- Financial Stewardship: Oversee financial performance, optimizing KPIs, and spearheading growth initiatives.
- Customer & Community Engagement: Deliver exceptional experiences for clients and their pooches while representing Urban Pooch within the community and industry.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 based on experience.
- Performance Bonuses: Opportunity to earn up to $12,000 in bonuses annually through monthly performance reviews.

Logistics & Flexibility
- Work Location: Predominantly based at our Canine Life Center at 4501 N. Ravenswood Avenue, with travel between both Ravenswood facilities.
- Transportation: Consistent access to a safe, insured, reliable vehicle is necessary.
- Flexible Hours: Ability to work evenings and weekends as business needs dictate.
What We Seek in Our GM
- Preferred Experience: 10+ years in leadership within the Pet Care industry, with at least 5 years as a General Manager of one or more facilities.
- Operational Expertise: Demonstrated success in managing multi-service operations (daycare, lodging, training, grooming, retail).
- Business Acumen: Strong financial and business knowledge with direct P&L responsibility.
- Leadership Skills: A natural leader and mentor who fosters high-performance teams.
- Passion and Flexibility: A deep passion for dogs and people, and the ability to work flexible hours to meet business demands.
