Why Waggles Pet Resort

We're growing fast and raising the bar for pet care in the North Shore and Northwest Suburbs, come build something special.
Who Thrives Here
If you're the calm in the chaos, read canine body language like a second language, and naturally step up when your team needs direction, you'll fit right in.
- You bring 2+ years of paid, professional pet-care experience (daycare, kennel, shelter, or vet), with leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- You're available to work a Full-time schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- You're a team player and confident leader who communicates clearly, gives direction, and follows through.
- You understand that great leadership means coaching others, holding standards, and jumping in alongside your team when needed.
- You're comfortable making decisions in a fast-moving environment while keeping dog safety and quality of care first.
- You're reliable, upbeat, and comfortable in a fast-paced, loud, physical environment.
Who Isn't a Fit
We're not the place for people who:
- Prefer solo work and avoid collaboration.
- Want the title of leader without jumping in and doing the work alongside the team.
- Avoid difficult conversations, feedback, or holding others accountable.
- Dislike physical, on-your-feet shifts or cleaning tasks.
- Struggle to follow or consistently enforce safety and sanitation standards.
What Drives Us (Our Core Values)
At Waggles, our work is more than a job, it's a calling. We live by these guiding principles:
- We OWN our work: We take responsibility for the dogs in our care and for our own actions - transparent, accountable, and proud of what we build together.
- We GROW together: From reading dog body language to developing new services, we're lifelong learners who support each other's career and personal growth.
- We STEP UP: Challenges don't scare us, they unite us. We show up for our team, for our clients, and especially for the dogs.
- We know when to HEEL: We serve with humility, recognizing our limits, asking questions, and always doing what's best for the dog, even when it's not the easiest choice.
What You'll Do (Day-to-Day)
Here's what your day will look like:
- Lead the Pet Care team during your shift, providing clear direction, coaching, support, and accountability.
- Oversee playgroups with a safety-first mindset: monitor body language, energy levels, group dynamics, and ensure team members consistently follow safe dog-handling practices.
- Monitor the health, behavior, and overall well-being of dogs throughout the resort and make sound decisions when concerns arise.
- Ensure suites and play spaces are clean and sanitized, because clean equals safe.
- Oversee feeding, watering, medications, dog movements, and other daily care routines to ensure they are completed accurately and on time.
- Make sure important pet-care information, incidents, and concerns are properly documented and communicated to the appropriate team members and leaders.
- Train and coach Pet Care team members on Waggles' procedures, safety standards, and expectations.
- Help coordinate daily workflow and team assignments so dogs receive consistent, professional care throughout the shift.
- Step in wherever the team needs support, including hands-on pet care, cleaning, daycare, and lodging responsibilities.
- Help create a positive, accountable team environment where people own their work, grow together, step up, and know when to heel.
- (Preferred) Support pickup/drop-off driving routes with a valid driver's license and safe record.
