With the ability to start grooming immediately at our Lakewood location, this Groomer will open and establish our Avon, Ohio salon in our brand-new 9,100 sq. ft. pet resort. This person will be entrepreneurial and excited to bring their skills to the community. Our upscale salon in Lakewood is generally booked out weeks in advance and fed by an established daycare, boarding, and grooming business. This person will bring that same professionalism to Avon and be a part of a growing team of animal lovers. As a Pet Groomer, you will help care for the pets that are brought to our center, while continuing to grow our client relationships. The ideal candidate is compassionate towards animals, has outstanding customer service skills, and has the physical stamina to groom 7+ dogs each day. We are looking for individuals with previous grooming experience who can demonstrate dog and cat handling skills. He or she must have reliable transportation, own their own basic equipment, and must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes a weekend shift.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Grooms animals utilizing techniques which vary depending on the type of hair, coat, breed, and owner instructions
- Baths and dries animals, performs pedicures, and cleans ears
- Ensures the facility is clean and sanitized at all times
- Performs all general maintenance of grooming room to include cleaning cages, tubs, and grooming tables, vacuuming and mopping floors, emptying trash, and cleaning clipper blades, scissors, and brushes after each use
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- At least two years of pet grooming experience
- Must be familiar with standard cuts for all breeds, including the latest industry trends, as well as using various tools of the trade
- Must be able to demonstrate dog and cat handling skills
- Upbeat personality with a warm and friendly demeanor
- Superior customer service skills
- Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment
- Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills
- Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
- Able to work weekdays and a weekend shift
- This a full-time position.
