This is an excellent opportunity to gain professional experience in animal care.
Position:
- 11:00 to 4:00 Monday through Thursday
- 20 hours per week (aside from when we are closed for a major holiday)
- Supplemental part-time income
- Service area: Deerfield, Glencoe, Glenview, Highland Park, Kenilworth,
- Northbrook, Wilmette, and Winnetka communities
- W2 employee
- Paid training
Responsibilities:
- Work independently outdoors in various weather conditions
- Provide safe, attentive dog walking service from the client's residence
- Walk extra-large breed dogs such as Great Danes
- Walk up to three dogs together for 30-60 minutes
- Drive dogs to walk with other dogs
- Transport up to two dogs at a time
- Clean up dog waste
- Health and safety checks for dogs
- Use our industry software to manage schedules and end-of-service messages
- Maintain a clean driving record and an insured vehicle
Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum four years of consistent work history demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and personal responsibility.
- Honest, patient, and enthusiastic with a desire to learn.
What we offer:
- $22 per hour
- Approximately $1900 per month
- Periodic increase in pay based on ability, longevity, and performance
- 72.5 cents/mile driven for work
- Paid Time Off (sick leave or scheduled)
- Materials provided include leashes, poop bags, and dog transport supplies
- Previous experience working with dogs is not required.
