Fetch Dog Resort, Indiana’s trusted pet-care haven since 2006, is seeking a skilled and passionate Dog Trainer to join our dedicated team. Our day training program provides puppies and adolescent dogs with daily drop-off training focused on manners, socialization, and preventing unwanted behaviors—all using positive reinforcement methods including treats, rewards, and clicker training.
Responsibilities:
- Train dogs in our day training program, teaching all behaviors outlined in the curriculum.
- Educate owners through weekly one-on-one transfer sessions to ensure consistent follow-through at home.
- Communicate with prospects via phone, email, and in-person to explain our program and convert them into clients.
- Build strong, lasting relationships so owners look to Fetch for all daycare and boarding needs.
- Guide clients at program completion into our Enrich University enrichment daycare.
- Maintain detailed training schedules and department calendars to support efficient client onboarding.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience training dogs and coaching owners in private or group settings.
- Strong understanding of positive reinforcement techniques; CPDT certification is a plus but not required.
- Confident, outgoing communicator who can clearly demonstrate skills and coach clients.
- Independent worker with strong teamwork skills for shared housekeeping and dog-care tasks.
- Excellent organizational abilities and a positive, professional attitude.
- Leadership potential and interest in mentoring junior trainers or apprentices.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with general dog care: feeding, walking, administering medications.
- Support facility cleanliness and sanitation.
- Help make reservations and provide friendly customer service.
Schedule:
- Full-time, 40 hours/week (Mon–Fri)
- We have two shifts available: 7 am to 3 pm and 10 am to 6 pm. This position would require the 10 am to 6 pm shift on Fridays.
What we offer:
- $40,000–$50,000 annually
