Duties
- Manage daily operations of the dog daycare facility, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery
- Lead, train, and motivate staff in dog handling, pet grooming, and customer service best practices
- Oversee animal care routines including feeding, exercise, grooming, and health monitoring
- Implement and enforce safety protocols related to animal handling and restraint to ensure a secure environment for pets and staff
- Coordinate with veterinary professionals for health assessments or emergencies involving dogs in care
- Develop schedules, manage staffing levels, and ensure adequate coverage during all hours of operation
- Maintain detailed records of animal care activities, incident reports, and operational logs
- Foster a welcoming environment that promotes positive interactions between staff, clients, and pets
Experience
- Proven leadership experience managing a pet care or kennel facility with responsibility for staff supervision
- Strong background in dog training, animal handling, and restraint techniques
- Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with pet grooming, pet sitting, or animal care services
- Knowledge of veterinary procedures or veterinary experience is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for animal handling or equipment setup
Schedule
- This position will include optional morning shifts from 7:00–11:00 a.m. or 7:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., and afternoon shifts from 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or 2:00–7:00 p.m. The GM also provides coverage for any missed shifts.
