Position Overview
We are hiring one full-time Dog Trainer to join our Reno team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about dogs who wants a clear path for professional development in the training field.
Certification is not required to apply. RWC will pay for your online course as well as the CPDT-KA and CPDT-SA certification exams. You’ll receive a raise upon successfully passing your certification exams.
Employees must remain with RWC for at least 14 months after certification. If employment ends before that time, training and exam costs will be deducted from the final paycheck.
Core Responsibilities
- Train dogs in obedience, tricks, and behavior modification
- Develop customized training plans for individual dogs
- Coach owners on proper handling and reinforcement techniques
- Track training progress and adjust methods as needed
- Maintain a safe, structured, and positive training environment
Qualifications & Skills
- Knowledge of animal behavior and learning theory
- Experience in dog handling or training
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Dependable with a strong work ethic
- Genuine love for dogs and commitment to learning
- Dog Training Certification (IACP-CDT) (preferred, not required)
Schedule
- Monday through Friday: 10 am - 6.30 pm
