Tiny Paws Bookkeeping provides virtual bookkeeping, CFO, and advisory services forbusy pet-care professionals, giving them clarity and organization so they can focus on caring for pets.
We are adding a Senior Bookkeeper to support our growing client base. This is a full-time W-2 role. The schedule is flexible, but you must be available for some overlap during Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Mountain Time to join Zoom calls with clients and collaborate with the team. The start date is TBD based on candidate availability.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management & Advisory
- Serve as the primary relationship lead for an assigned portfolio of pet-care clients.
- Meet with clients via Zoom to review and explain monthly financial reports in plain language.
- Provide light advisory services—identify trends, flag issues, and suggest process improvements.
Full-Cycle Bookkeeping
- Oversee monthly close: ensure all bank/credit card accounts are reconciled, revenue streams differentiated (daycare vs. boarding vs. retail), and balance sheet schedules maintained.
- Prepare and file sales tax returns (including home‑rule jurisdictions as applicable).
- Process payroll across platforms and post payroll journal entries.
- Record and maintain loans, fixed assets, depreciation, and adjusting journal entries.
Leadership & Quality Control
- Mentor at least one Junior Bookkeeper: review their work, resolve errors, and coach on best practices.
- Proactively research answers before escalating; know when to seek help to protect accuracy and timeliness.
- Contribute to SOP development and workflow optimization using Keeper, Notion, and Clockwork.ai.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (public practice or in-house). Pet‑care industry experience is a plus but not required.
- Credentials: QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Certification (current) and a degree in Accounting or equivalent professional experience.
- Technology: Proficient with Excel, QuickBooks Online, Keeper, Notion, Pumble/Slack, Clockwork.ai, and payroll platforms (Gusto/OnPay/ADP). Familiarity with WaveApps and Xero is welcome.
- Soft Skills: Client‑facing communication, mentoring juniors, problem-solving, proactivity, independence, and the judgment to ask for help when needed.

Success After 12 Months
You independently manage approximately 20–25 clients, deliver timely and accurate closes, mentor a Junior Bookkeeper, and contribute positively to the growth and evolution of Tiny Paws Bookkeeping.
