What You’ll Do
As our General Manager, you’ll play a key role in the daily operations and long-term success of Fieldstone. Responsibilities include:
Operations & Quality Control
- Oversee daily kennel, daycare, and enrichment operations
- Ensure all pets receive safe, compassionate, enrichment-based care
- Maintain cleanliness, safety standards, and facility presentation
- Support scheduling, inventory, and operational planning
Leadership & Staff Development
- Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of Leads, Supervisors, and Pet Techs
- Onboard new hires effectively and manage training staff to Fieldstone standards
- Maintain a positive, accountable, team-oriented environment
- Lead by example through professionalism, communication, and problem-solving
Client Care & Communication
- Build client relationships and ensure an exceptional guest experience
- Handle escalations, special requests, and pet-specific concerns
- Communicate clearly, compassionately, and confidently with pet parents
Community Representation
- Attend Chamber of Commerce meetings and functions
- Attend public marketing events
- Attend industry conferences and educational sessions
Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist with staffing schedules, payroll support, and daily reporting
- Manage SOPs, projects, and improvements
- Ensure compliance with policies and uphold brand standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
- 2–3+ years of management or leadership experience (pet care preferred but not required)
- Strong communication and coaching skills
- Calm, solution-focused approach to busy and emotionally charged situations
- Excellent organizational ability
- Comfortable with technology and learning new systems (Gingr, When I Work, etc.)
- Passion for animals and a commitment to positive, humane handling in accordance with Fieldstone’s philosophy of animal treatment and care
- The ability to professionally represent Fieldstone at events and public functions
- We require a minimum of 40 hours of availability per week. Our general lobby hours are 7am to 7pm.
- The General Manager must be available evenings, weekends, and holidays to be on call. Our business operates 365 days per year.
