We are a premier dog training center and retail store offering training programs, boarding, retail products, and enrichment services. Currently, we’re growing—expanding our offerings and preparing to open additional locations. Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead the next phase of our company’s growth. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about dogs, and has the operational experience to manage daily functions while building systems for the future.
You will work closely with ownership and department managers to develop, implement, and refine processes that allow us to expand into multiple locations while maintaining high standards of care, service, and culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Culture: Provide hands-on leadership across all departments, including training, daycare, boarding, front desk, and enrichment teams.
- Team Collaboration: Align priorities with department managers, create efficient workflows, and ensure smooth communication.
- Daily Operations: Oversee facility operations to maintain a safe, clean, and engaging environment for all dogs.
- Systems Building: Collaborate with ownership to create and implement SOPs, management tools, and operational processes that scale with growth.
- Staff Management: Recruit, hire, train, schedule, track attendance, prepare payroll, and conduct coaching/performance reviews.
- Client Experience: Ensure exceptional client service, handle inquiries and concerns, and maintain a positive experience.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to animal care, health, safety, sanitation protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- Business Performance: Track key metrics, monitor performance, and support reporting, sales, and occupancy goals.
- Facility & Vendor Management: Oversee maintenance, supplies, and vendor relationships.
Schedule
- Full-Time: 40–45 hours per week
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of management experience in pet care, hospitality, veterinary, or service-focused industries
- Strong leadership skills to inspire, develop, and manage a diverse team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proven ability to create and implement systems that improve efficiency and scalability
- Experience managing multiple teams or department leads
- Solid understanding of business operations, including scheduling, inventory, and financial oversight
- Knowledge of canine behavior, health, and safety preferred
- Calm and effective problem-solving skills in fast-paced or emergency situations
- Proficiency with scheduling, POS, and client management software
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working hands-on with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting Pay: $28–$33/hour, commensurate with experience
- Performance-Based Pay Increases: Available based on milestones
