Job Overview:
As the Overnight Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and comfort of our boarding guests after hours. This is a solo position that requires maturity, reliability, and strong animal care knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise individual and group potty breaks (up to 20 dogs)
- Clean and sanitize: kennels, laundry, dishes, mopping, turfed yards, and other common areas
- Scoop and dispose of pet waste
- Observe and document physical or behavioral changes in pets
- Administer medications (oral, topical, and insulin) to both dogs and cats
- Monitor up to 20 security cameras covering indoor/outdoor areas
- Provide 1:1 supervision in the office for pets with medical or behavioral needs
- Deliver extra care services like cuddle time and enrichment treats
- Prepare and serve meals per pet-specific instructions
- Use our software systems (Gingr and Slack) to log notes and updates
- Maintain clear communication with other overnight and day staff
- Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies (including pet medical emergencies) should they occur
Schedule:
Wedesday through Sunday working a combination of 6 pm to 12 am, 12 am to 6:30 am, and 6 pm to 6:30 am
Ideal Candidate:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- At least 6 months of previous overnight work experience highly preferred
- Previous professional animal care experience (preferred, but not required)
- Skilled in time management and self-direction
- Excellent attendance and punctuality
- Confident in handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
- Able to recognize signs of illness, injury, or behavioral issues
- Comfortable being a keyholder and working alone
- Calm under pressure, especially in emergency situations
- Proficient with or able to learn pet care software (Gingr)
- Open availability including weekends and holidays
- Enthusiastic about providing compassionate, high-quality pet care
- Comfortable working 12 hour shifts at least two times per week
