Our walks are limited to groups of three dogs on long-leashes, ensuring personalized attention and a safe, stimulating experience. Job Description:
We are seeking highly motivated and responsible dog walkers to join our team. The ideal candidate is a passionate animal lover with exceptional communication skills and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. This part-time position requires a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Leading small groups (maximum three dogs) on one-hour enrichment walks in local forest preserves.
- Maintain meticulous safety protocols and handle dogs responsibly at all times.
- Communicating effectively with clients regarding their dogs’ needs and behaviors.
- Ensuring the dogs’ safety and well-being, including proper leash management and awareness of surroundings.
- Cleaning up after the dogs.
- Punctuality and reliability are essential.
- Completing daily walk reports or client communication logs.
- Occasional private neighborhood walks before or after group walks (flexible scheduling).
Operating Hours: 9 AM to 4 PM, with set group walk times: 10 AM–12 PM and 1 PM–3 PM. A break is scheduled between group walks.
Qualifications:
- Significant experience handling dogs, ideally in group settings. Strong dog-handling skills and understanding of canine body language are crucial.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor are essential.
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle are required for transporting dogs.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to a minimum of one year of employment.
Benefits:
- Starting wage of $20 - $22 /hour + mileage reimbursement, cell phone stipend, bonuses, and gratuity.
- Paid training includes Fear-Free & Force-Free techniques and Pet CPR certification.
- Projected monthly earnings: $1600–$2400.
- Part-time schedule (20–30 hours/week), Monday–Friday, no evenings, weekends, or holidays.
