Are you an animal lover looking to turn your passion into supplemental income? Tails & Trails is seeking dedicated and responsible individuals to join our team of dog walkers and pet sitters. Based in Portland, ME, we proudly serve the communities of Portland, Westbrook, Falmouth, and South Portland.
Position Overview
As a team member, you will provide exceptional care to our clients’ beloved pets, ensuring their health, happiness, and well-being. This role requires flexibility, dedication, and a love for working with animals.
New hires typically start with 5-10 hours per week, potentially growing to 20 hours per week, contingent on your availability, performance, and client demand. In this position, the more effort you put in, the greater your earning potential!
Key Responsibilities
Provide dog walking services and pet care in varied weather conditions—rain or shine, warmth or cold.
- Collaborate with the Tails & Trails team to support one another and ensure seamless service for our clients.
Requirements
- Available at least two days per week, Monday through Friday, from 10 am to 3 pm.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
- Previous experience with animals, whether professional, volunteer, or personal ownership, is advantageous but not required.
- A genuine attitude and enthusiasm for learning how to care for pets properly are highly valued.
Compensation
$18 - $25 / hour (paid by the visit with bonuses and gratuity, training is paid at the rate of $16 per hour.)
$400 - $1000 / monthly (based on availability and client demand)
- Training at $16 per hour, normally runs 1-2 weeks based on schedules and employee ability.
- Most staff average $20 per hour within the first two months of employment.
