Professional Pet Friends is a Knoxville-native pet-care business that aims to put pets and staff first! Our main goal is to offer excellent care as if our client's pets are our own. Our enriched dog walking and pet sitting services are specifically tailored to fit the needs of every client. We pride ourselves in prompt updates with each visit and passionate and educated pet care associates.
Location/Schedule:
- Our next staff member will work in the West Knoxville area.
- Shifts normally run up to 4-6 hours.
- The position will start at 10-20 hours weekly and can grow to 25 hours based on performance.
- This is designed to be a part-time position. Hours fluctuate based on client demand.
- Operating hours are 6am to 11pm.
- Peak hours are 7am to 2pm.
- We would prefer a candidate with consistent availability and who can work consecutive days.
- Our next staff member would be ideally available on Saturday and Sunday.
Compensation:
$14.50 - $16.50 / hour *starting rate depending on experience
$550 - $1200 / month (depending on client demand and staff availability)
- Staff will train at $10 per hour. Training normally runs 10-20 hours.
- Performance reviews with a compensation increase after six months.

The responsibilities:
- Create a safe and positive walking environment for our client's dogs.
- Follow the client-provided care instructions, including training preferences.
- Provide detailed and attentive care for our client's pets.
- Give our clients first-class customer service with a personal touch.
- Communicate with staff via phone/text and photographs.
- Contribute to the team effort by working as a team player.
- Practice time management to ensure on-time arrivals for all assigned visits.
- Travel to our office location upon request.
The ideal candidate:
- An honest, patient, and enthusiastic candidate who can provide our client's dogs and cats with the highest quality visits possible.
- The candidate should have a strong understanding of safety and time management.
- Previous professional or volunteer experience with animals is preferred, but a positive attitude and a desire to learn are just as important.
- The candidate should enjoy an active work environment, walking independently and working outdoors in all four seasons.
- Special consideration for candidates with evening, weekend, and holiday availability.
- Many members of our staff come from different career paths, from stay-at-home parents to software programmers. Other staff members were previously dog walkers with on-demand services, doggy daycare staff, dog groomers, or volunteers at a local shelter.
