Key Responsibilities:
- Provide respectful care to pets, including feeding, walking, playing, andĀ administering medications when necessary.
- Ensure pets are comfortable, happy, and safe during each visit or stay.
- Build trust and maintain professional, friendly relationships with pet owners by offering regular updates and photos of their pets.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness for pets and their environment (e.g., clean food/water bowls, litter pans, cages, tanks, pet areas).
- Observe and report any behavioral or health issues to pet owners promptly.
- Follow detailed care instructions provided by pet owners to ensure timely communications and consistency.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills when interacting with pet owners, ensuring they feel at ease with their pets in your care.
What Are the Qualifications Needed?
- Verifiable experience in animal care, such as working as a vet tech, vet assistant, hands-on rescue volunteer, or nurse/teacher/home health care worker with animal care experience (sorry, friends and family don't count).
- Comfortable handling a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rodents, fish, insects, and other pets.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills ā you should enjoy interacting with both pets and people.
- Ability to follow specific pet care instructions with attention to detail.
- Punctual with a strong work ethic. This is animal care. You HAVE to be where you are supposed to be, when you are supposed to be there!
- Self-motivated and able to handle different situations with a calm and positive attitude.
- Must have a cell phone, printer, computer, internet, your own independentĀ transportation.
- Be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Be able to walk 100 pond dogs who likes to pull.
- Must live within 3 miles of Colorado Springs.
- Our insurance requires that you be at least 21 years old,
When Do We Need Help?
- Always! We are the highest rated, most awarded pet sitting and dog walking team in The Springs. We are very busy and growing quickly.Ā There are many shifts available.Ā
- We offer services all day long, 8 am ā 9:30 pm.
- Interested in people who can work at least:
- 4 consecutive hours a day ⢠4 days a week ⢠for 6 months.
- Weekends or rotating weekends.
- Yup, holidays too. But you get paid extra for those visits.
- Slumber Party availability is a plus! 9:30 pm to 7:30 am. ThisĀ involves staying with pets overnight in their home.Ā It's a fabulous pet pile-up with tons of bonding time!Ā
