About the Role
We are hiring Pet Care Specialists to join our growing team! As a Pet Care Specialist, you'll play a vital role in providing a safe, enriching, and fun experience for every dog in our daycare and boarding programs. This is an active, hands-on position that requires excellent observation skills, teamwork, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and safely manage dog playgroups throughout the day.
- Follow established group management and safety protocols.
- Monitor canine body language and recognise early signs of stress, illness, injury, or conflict.
- Redirect behaviour and maintain a safe, positive play environment.
- Complete playgroup reports and daily documentation.
- Assist with 7-Point Wellness Check-In procedures.
- Feed, provide fresh water, and maintain clean kennels and play areas.
- Help with boarding care, enrichment activities, and daily routines.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding each dog's care.
- Deliver exceptional service to both pets and their owners.
Schedule
- Weekly schedules are posted one week in advance. Flexibility is required to work morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Qualifications
- Loves dogs and enjoys working with people.
- Is dependable, motivated, and a self-starter.
- Stays calm and organized in a busy environment.
- Has experience with dog daycare, pet boarding, pet sitting, dog walking, or animal care (preferred).
- Has knowledge of canine behavior and safe dog handling.
- Is physically able to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Has a valid driver's license. Van driving experience is a plus.
