Dog Handler — Part-Time (Renton, WA)
Are you an animal lover looking for a fun, flexible way to earn extra income? Join Rainier Dog Resort & Spa — King County’s #1 dog daycare — as a Dog Handler and help create a safe, clean, and enriching environment for the dogs in our care. We’re an enrichment-based pet boarding, bathing, training, and day-camp facility serving working professionals and families who want thoughtful, fear- and force-free care.
What we are:
- A busy, licensed, bonded, and insured pet care facility with 24/7 staffed boarding and large indoor/outdoor play yards.
- Focused on consistent, personalized care: familiar faces, secure cabins and suites, hospital-grade HVAC with UV air disinfecting, and attention tailored to each dog’s needs.
- We partner with industry leaders to provide a premier level of care and service.
What you’ll do:
- Supervise and safely move dogs between play groups and activities.
- Provide one-on-one attention through solo sessions and enrichment add-ons.
- Monitor dog behavior and promptly communicate observations to team members.
- Assist with daily cleaning and disinfecting tasks to maintain a sanitary environment.
- Help create a calm, engaging experience for every guest, from high-energy play to quiet lap time.
Who we’re looking for:
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment.
- Confident, calm, and compassionate around dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
- Previous dog-handling or animal-care experience is a plus but not required — we provide paid training.
- Reliable availability: SAT/SUN/MON/TUE required. Most new hires work three to four 5-hour shifts per week (15–20 hours/week initially, with potential for more).
