Inn the Doghouse is expanding its grooming team!
Since 2003, Inn the Doghouse Pet Resorts has been a well-respected, upscale, locally-owned and operated pet resort serving Northeast Ohio. With established locations in Lakewood and Mentor, we have recently launched a beautiful new Avon location. We combine boarding, daycare, and grooming with a client-first reputation and a team-focused culture. Job Duties
- Groom dogs and cats to breed-standard and custom styles: bath, dry, trim, finish
- Perform pedicures, ear cleaning, and basic health checks
- Recommend grooming/wellness add-ons to improve pet comfort and client satisfaction
- Maintain a clean, sanitized grooming room: tubs, cages, tools, floors, and equipment
- Collaborate with daycare, boarding, and front-desk staff; perform other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
- 2+ years of grooming experience required
- Comfortable with standard cuts for all breeds, current industry techniques, and common grooming tools
- Confident, calm animal handler with strong customer-service skills
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced salon
- Physically able to bend, kneel, stand for shifts, and lift up to ~50 lbs; reliable transportation and basic grooming kit

Compensation & Schedule
- Paid hourly + commission and gratuity (base pay starts at $12/hr; total pay varies with performance and client demand)
- Established groomers can earn $40-$45 per hour after gratuity
- 100% gratuity
