Job requirements & duties
- Position: part-time dog walker; regular shifts (evenings), flexible scheduling to cover client needs.
- This role is designed to be 4-10pm Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. Please note that most staff will start working 5-10 hours weekly, and you will not be working for the entire period.
- Safely walk dogs of varying sizes, breeds, energy levels, and behavior profiles (leash handling, recall, on-route safety).
- Provide in-app visit reports and photos after every walk; note behavior, appetite, and any concerns.
- Administer medications or injections when required (training provided for qualified candidates).
- Follow client-specific care plans, company policies, and Fear Free handling techniques.
- You must have access to a safe, insured, and reliable vehicle.
- Lift and manage up to medium-large dogs, navigate stairs, and handle unexpected situations.
Ideal candidate
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic with pets.
- Hands-on dog-walking/handling experience (personal, volunteer or professional).
- Comfortable with fearful/anxious dogs and small-dog or large-dog handling techniques.
- Strong communicator: clear in-app updates, responsive to clients and team.
- Smartphone-savvy; able to use our app for scheduling and reporting.
- Reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and able to work collaboratively with our Lucky Pup Team.
- Fear Free Certification, pet first aid/CPR, or prior professional pet care experience is a plus.
What we offer
- $14-$17 per hour (depending upon experience)
