The Role
**This role does require OPEN AVAILABILITY, meaning you can work any day of the week, any hour of the day, including holidays**
As an Assistant Manager, you'll be a key team leader in our daily operations, ensuring our team and facility are running smoothly. You'll be responsible for:
- Hiring, Onboarding, and Training New Staff: You will play a vital role in hiring and building a team of rockstars!
- Supervising Daily Operations: Overseeing staff duty assignments in both the daycare and boarding areas.
- Ensuring Pet Health & Safety: Monitoring the well-being of all guests, handling any health or behavioral issues, and conducting dog behavior evaluations.
- Leading and Developing Staff: Training, coaching, and motivating our team to ensure all policies and procedures are followed. You'll also be involved in interviewing and hiring new staff and creating work schedules.
- Providing Exceptional Customer Service: Communicating professionally with pet owners and building strong relationships with our clientele.
- Maintaining Facility Standards: Working with other department managers to provide the highest level of pet care.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and pets, along with a proven track record of leadership. You should also meet the following requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to following company policies and procedures, while also ensuring that all other staff do the same. You must be comfortable holding staff accountable if the company’s policies and procedures are not followed!
- Leadership: This is a leadership role and we need a candidate with strong leadership skills who can lead our team of kennel and daycare staff to success!
- Experience: More than 1.5 years of previous experience managing people. Prior pet industry experience is a major plus!
- Skills: Excellent communication, people, and customer service skills. You must be comfortable working with computers and learning our digital reservation system.
- Traits: A positive attitude, a proven ability to work as part of a high-energy team, and an exceptional eye for detail. You must also be comfortable around all breeds and sizes of dogs and cats.
- Physical Demands: Ability to be on your feet for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Availability: MUST have OPEN availability, including full availability on weekends and holidays. Shifts are typically 8 hrs, varying between 6 AM and 7 PM.
A background check and drug test are required for this position. A college degree is preferred but not required.
