Our mission is to strengthen the bond between dogs and their owners by teaching and reinforcing desirable behaviors in a safe and supportive setting.
Role Overview:
As a Dog Trainer, you'll collaborate closely with both dogs and their owners in their homes, addressing needs from basic manners to more complex behavioral challenges. Your primary goal will be to help dogs and their families build and maintain a harmonious relationship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individualized training sessions adapted to the age, size, and behavior of each dog.
- Implement force-free, positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviors.
- Craft personalized training plans tailored to each dog-owner pair.
- Offer continuous support through detailed progress reports and feedback.
- Educate owners on methods to sustain their dog's new skills post-training.
- Prioritize the safety and well-being of each canine under your guidance.
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of operant and classical conditioning
- Experience with fear, anxiety, and reactivity modification
- Excellent communication and coaching skills
- Ability to work independently with high standards
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and comfort working in client homes
Preferred Experience
- 1+ years professional dog training experience
- Experience with complex behavior cases or veterinary collaboration
- Experience coaching families with children
- Background in animal behavior coursework
Schedule
- Sunday through Thursday (flexibility in terms of time frame)
