Position Overview
We are seeking a confident, experienced Assistant Manager to help oversee daily operations and guide multiple departments to success. This leadership role is ideal for someone who is passionate about animal health and safety, thrives in a collaborative environment, and can balance structure with adaptability.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee animal health, safety, and welfare standards across all departments
- Guide and support teams in grooming, daycare/boarding, and retail to ensure seamless teamwork
- Promote a positive, accountable, and respectful workplace culture
- Utilize product knowledge and/or animal nutrition experience to support staff and customers
- Ensure processes and protocols are followed while thinking on your feet when situations change
- Assist with training and operational coverage across all shifts as needed
Qualifications
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience (pet care, retail, or service-based environment preferred)
- Strong understanding of animal behavior, handling, and safety standards
- Product knowledge and/or animal nutrition experience strongly preferred
- Ability to follow systems while remaining flexible and solutions-oriented
- Excellent communication, organization, and team leadership skills
- Flexibility to work weekends and train on all shifts
Schedule
- This role will not have a set shift. Our hours of operation are 7 am-7 pm Monday through Saturday and 10 am - 6 pm on Sundays.
- Will also need the flexibility to train on all shifts (morning, mid, and closing)
