Job Description:
- East Bay Pet Care seeks a responsible and enthusiastic Group Dog Walker to join our team.
- Our primary service area is in and near Lafayette, Walnut Creek, and Pleasant Hill.
- You will ensure our furry clients enjoy a safe and engaging experience.
- Your primary responsibility will be to lead group walks, reinforce positive behavior, and guarantee each pet's safety and enjoyment.
- Our next group dog walker would need to be available 3 to 4 days a week, including Thursday and Friday, from about 7 am-9 am, to 1 pm to 4 pm. *Dog walking start and end times can fluctuate based on client demand.
Job Duties:
- Walk multiple dogs simultaneously in small groups, maintaining control and ensuring safety. Groups may be as large as six per session.
- Follow each pet’s individual care instructions and routines.
- Monitor dogs for behavioral changes and health issues, communicating any concerns promptly to pet owners or supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and safe walking environment.
- Engage in positive reinforcement techniques to encourage good behavior during walks.
- Develop a strong relationship with each pet and provide affection, attention, and care.
- Ensure dogs are hydrated and relieved as necessary during walks.
- Collect and return dogs from their homes, securing them safely within the vehicle for transport when necessary.
- Maintain thorough records of walks, including duration, distance, and any notable occurrences.
Ideal Candidate:
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their care and well-being.
- Previous experience in pet care or dog walking is preferred.
- Strong ability to manage and control multiple dogs during group walks.
- Excellent communication skills with a professional and reliable demeanor.
- A patient, calm, and confident personality to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
- Physically fit and able to walk for extended periods, regardless of weather conditions.
- Valid California driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for transporting dogs when necessary.
- Candidates will have consistent access to a large vehicle capable of transporting up to six dogs safely.
What we offer:
- Starting wage of $20 per hour after training. (Training is paid at $17 per hour)
- Most staff work 15-20 hours weekly after onboarding. Grossing $1600+ per month.
