Role Overview
- As an Assistant Manager, you will work closely with our CEO to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of Canine Cowboy.
- This position is a stepping stone to a rewarding career in pet care management, where you'll hone your skills across various roles, including day and night shifts and housekeeping, all while developing management expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee Management: Train new hires, manage teams, resolve conflicts, and ensure daily tasks are completed proficiently.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring they feel valued and heard.
- Operational Excellence: Monitor safety and wellness of dogs, handle scheduling, payroll, and implement staff progress tracking programs.
- Facility Oversight: Maintain the facility's high standards by ensuring all amenities and equipment are in top condition.
- Revenue Enhancement: Develop initiatives to boost revenue through creative programs, events, and strategic client outreach.
- Customer Care: Provide exceptional service by addressing customer requests, concerns, and effectively managing any issues with their pets.
Ideal Candidate Traits
- We would strongly prefer a candidate with at least two years of prior management experience.
- Personable and Engaging: Ability to form bonds with both clients and their pets.
- Proactive and Dedicated: Capable of identifying tasks and completing them promptly with a positive attitude.
- Strong Work Ethic: Reliability is key—show up 15 minutes early, rarely call out, and demonstrate exemplary conduct.
- Leadership and Communication: Inspire and guide staff through effective communication and lead by example.
- Flexibility and Commitment: Willingness to adapt to changing schedules, be on-call, and address issues swiftly.
Work Schedule and Compensation
- Schedule: Typical hours are 6:45am-7pm, with potential adjustments as needed. Work weeks will alternate between three to four days.
- Competitive pay based on experience.
- Performance review at 90 days.
