Walks Wiggles and Wags is seeking a dedicated, responsible, and knowledgeable Dog Walker to join our team in Morris County and Somerset County, NJ. YOU MUST LIVE IN OR NEAR THE TOWNS WE SERVICE TO BE CONSIDERED!
This position is part-time, Monday-Friday 11 AM - 4 PM, with occasional weekends and/or early mornings and late evenings as needed, to service our clients in the following tows:
- Budd Lake
- Basking Ridge
- Bedminster
- Bernardsville
- Chester
- Far Hills
- Flanders
- Long Valley
- Mendham
- Morris Plains
- Peapack & Gladstone
- Randolph
- Roxbury and more
You will be expected to travel to respective towns and be responsible for providing exceptional care and exercise for dogs in our community. This can be a physically demanding job, walking anywhere from 1-5 miles a day in all types of weather conditions. You will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of pets while giving their owners peace of mind.
What You’ll Do
- Walk dogs of various breeds, sizes, and energy levels (from one household)
- Ensure dogs get safe, structured exercise and enrichment
- Provide fresh water/food, treats, and clean up after dogs
- Visit clients' homes for pet care, following their instructions
- Communicate with clients via our app
- Monitor dogs for any changes in behavior or health concerns and report to management
- Follow all company policies and safety protocols
- Drive between clients’ homes (mileage and time reimbursed)
What We’re Looking For
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently
- Punctual and dependable - clients count on us!
- Must speak English, have a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and a smartphone
- Able to work in various weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, cold)
- Previous experience in dog handling, pet sitting, or animal care is preferred
- Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple dogs at once while ensuring their safety
- Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners effectively
- Physical stamina to walk dogs for extended periods and handle various breeds
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being
