Job Opportunity: Bather at DePAW Pet Resort
Are you passionate about pets and dedicated to providing exceptional care? DePAW Pet Resort seeks a highly motivated and compassionate Bather to join our team. As a Bather, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy environment in our spa area, ensuring every pet receives a professional quality bath that exceeds expectations.
General Duties:
- Report to the Master Stylist, Operations Manager, Assistant General Manager
- Follow and complete the daily spa cleaning checklist
- Obtain and provide Services by Day Report(s) using Gingr
- Ensure correct groom pricing in Gingr, add initials to reservation notes, and mark services complete
- Capture quality before and after photos of pets
- Efficiently support Master Stylist and handle additional spa services for guests
Bathing Duties:
- Review special instructions before bringing pets into the bathing room
- Prepare necessary supplies and equipment for baths and/or blow dries
- Ensure pets use restrooms outside before entering the spa room
- Clean ears thoroughly and protect them from water during bathing
- Bathe pets attentively, ensuring all areas are cleaned properly
- Thoroughly blow dry pets, maintaining consistency
- Ensure pet comfort and safety, never leaving pets unattended
- Coordinate with lodging staff for pet care post-shift
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Monitor and alert the Operations Manager to any health concerns
- Adhere to safety and sanitary procedures
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with animal care (kennel, shelter, veterinary) or bathing preferred
- Competent in making sound judgments and confident in dog handling
- Strong troubleshooting, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
- Ability to read dogs’ body language and handle stressful situations calmly
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
- Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
Physical Requirements:
- Handle dogs that pull or jump
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Stand and walk up to 8 hours per shift
- Comfortable with all dog breeds and sizes
